Retro Bowl

Retro Bowl

Experience like a real coach in the Retro Bowl game.

Welcome to Retro Bowl, a game that combines the classic feel of classic arcade sports games with the excitement of modern football gameplay. Retro Bowl is an 8-bit American football video game developed by New Star Games. Presented in glorious retro style, the game features simple squad management, including press duties and dealing with fragile egos, while on the field you can dictate.

Style play

In Retro Bowl, the player controls the team's behavior while also acting as the general manager of an entire team. The objective of the game is for the player to manage his team to the Retro Bowl championship game (A spin-off of the Super Bowl). The game also covers aspects of managing an American football team such as trading and cutting players, signing free agents, maintaining morale, recruiting players, talking to the press lice, etc. Players can also purchase Retro Bowl currency called training credits, which can also be earned by playing the game and decisions outside of the game. Can you beat the score and lead your team to the ultimate prize? Are you confident of winning the Retro Bowl with the highest number?

Retro Bowl Tips

WR is easily the most important position. If possible try to get at least a 4-star+ WR.

Always go for it on 4th down and always go for the 2-point conversion.

The RB check is extremely broken. Always keep the RB wide open when you pass to him. It usually results in a good game or a first down.

Always upgrade the speed of WR and RB. To upgrade Quarterback Arm Strength. WR, RB, and QB the second most important stat is stamina. Defensive upgrades are not important but focus on handling and speed.

Kicker should be chosen on Easy to Hard difficulty if you intend to kick a field goal from 4th down. If you intend to play an aggressive playstyle where you do it on most 4th kills then Kicker is not necessary.

Offensive coaches and defensive coaches help improve non-star players. We recommend getting a good Defense trainer for difficulties ranging from Easy to Hard.

Satisfy your fans once you have enough Coaching Credits: Raising your fan approval meter will allow you to earn more Coaching Credits per match, so when you have enough Training Credits, pay attention to this meter. It will pay off.

Accumulate a minimum of 100 Coaching Credits before changing teams
